The BMW International Polo Series, against a touring international team, is played in August each year. The first Test (always on a Sunday) is played at Shongweni, near Durban and the second Test, played a week later, is held at the Inanda Club in Sandton.
This year, SAPA is very happy to announce that Chile have accepted our invitation to send a team to participate in the 2010 BMW International Polo Series. The last time Chile was here for the August BMW Series was in 2006 and the game was one of the most exciting in recent history with the first Test being drawn and South Africa winning by only one goal at the second Test. Immediately after this tour South Africa was invited on a reciprocal visit with an equally narrow victory but this time to the home side. This was played at the headquarters of Chilean polo, the San Cristóbal Club in Santiago, which is one of the most picturesque settings in the world. South Americans are renowned as the best horsemen in the world and spectators will not be disappointed.

WEST BANK DAY TICKETS give you access to the West Bank at Shongweni. This is the same side as the BMW Marquee and there are grandstands to sit on as well as space for your own picnics. You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks but there is a public catering stand, bar as well as a coffee stand available.

EAST BANK DAY TICKETS give you access to the East Bank at Shongweni. There are no grandstands on this side and again public are welcome to bring their own drinks and picnics to enjoy the day. These tickets also give you easy access to the children's entertainment area. There is a public catering stand, bar as well as a coffee stand available.

EAST BANK PICNIC TICKETS give you access to picnic sites located on the East Bank (opposite side to the BMW Marquee). Each site is surrounded by white picket fencing and includes tickets for 10 people, 10 chairs, 2 trestle tables and a 3m x 3m marquee. You will have to provide your own linen. (minimum 10 people per site)

WEST BANK PICNIC TICKETS give you access to the beautifully situated sites on the West Bank immediately below the BMW Marquee. Each site features a 3m x 3m draped marquee and is surrounded by white picket fencing. It also includes tickets for 10 people, 10 chairs with covers and 2 trestle tables with linen. From here you can enjoy prime viewing of all the speed & action of this thrilling game. (minimum 10 people per site)

CORPORATE MARQUEE SITES a limited number of these can be booked for a minimum of 50 pax up to 250 pax. They can be located either on the East or West Bank. This is an ideal opportunity to create a personalised corporate environment in which to entertain your clients. A full event management service is available for this, alternately clients can elect to do this in-house.

All BMW VIP Marquee tickets as well as Marquee site bookings must be pre-purchased through the SA Polo Association. How to get there from Durban:
Take the N3 toll road to Pietermaritzburg. After the Marianhill Plaza, take the first off-ramp, signposted "Assagay/Shongweni". Turn right over the bridge, crossing over the freeway, and then continue for about one kilometre. The polo field is on the left and clearly signposted.
How to get there from Pietermaritzburg:
Take the N3 toll road to Durban. Take the last off-ramp before the Marianhill Plaza, signposted "Assagay/Shongweni". Turn left at the top (do not go over the bridge) and continue for about one kilometre. The polo field is on the left and clearly signposted.

| DIRECTIONS |
|
From the M1 take the Grayston Road offramp and continue up the hill to the Rivonia Road intersection. Turn left into Rivonia Road and continue all the way past Sandton City and St Davids Marist College. Immediately after this turn left into Central Avenue. Continue downhill through several intersections and then turn left into 5th Avenue. This becomes Forest Drive after a sharp bend in the road to the right and the gates of Inanda are almost immediately on the left.
