The BMW International Polo Series, against a touring international team, is played in August each year. The first Test (always on a Sunday) is played at Shongweni, near Durban and the second Test, played a week later, is held at the Inanda Club in Sandton, Johannesburg. This year SAPA is delighted to announce that the Indian Polo Association has accepted our invitation to send their National side to participate in the 2012 BMW Polo Series on Sunday 19 August at Shongweni in Durban and Sunday 26 August at the Inanda Club in Johannesburg. India have only played in the August BMW Series once previously in 2005 which saw the home side emerging victorious. All ticketing information, programme of events and directions for Shongweni and Inanda can be seen below. No doubt spectators can look forward to another fabulous polo experience.

SHONGWENI - 19 AUGUST 2012
WEST BANK DAY TICKETS give you access to the West Bank at Shongweni. This is the same side as the BMW Marquee and there are grandstands to sit on as well as space for your own picnics. You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks but there is a public catering stand, bar as well as a coffee stand available.

EAST BANK DAY TICKETS give you access to the East Bank at Shongweni. There are no grandstands on this side and again public are welcome to bring their own drinks and picnics to enjoy the day. These tickets also give you easy access to the children's entertainment area. There is a public catering stand, bar and coffee stand available.

WEST BANK PICNIC TICKETS give you access to the beautifully situated sites on the West Bank immediately below the BMW Marquee from where you can enjoy prime viewing of this thrilling game. There are two types of tickets available:
PREMIUM PICNIC SITE: Each site features a 3m x 3m draped marquee, is surrounded by white picket fencing, includes tickets for 10 people, programmes, 10 chairs with chair covers & 1 trestle table with linen.
Ticket Price: R4200 per site of 10 people (excluding VAT)
BASIC PICNIC SITE: Each site features a 3m x 3m marquee, is surrounded by white picket fencing, includes tickets for 10 people, programmes, 10 chairs & 1 trestle table. Draping, chair covers and linen are not included.
Ticket Price: R2900 per site of 10 people (excluding VAT)
A bar service and food hampers can be pre-ordered through Ward Events at an additional charge.

DIRECTIONS
How to get there from Durban:
Take the N3 toll road to Pietermaritzburg. After the Marianhill Plaza, take the first off-ramp, signposted "Assagay/Shongweni". Turn right over the bridge, crossing over the freeway, and then continue for about one kilometre. The polo field is on the left and clearly signposted.

DAY TICKETS give you access to anywhere non pre-booked at Inanda. You can bring your own picnic and enjoy the day from the sidelines. There is a public catering stand, coffee & a public bar available.

DIRECTIONS
From the M1 take the Grayston Road offramp and continue up the hill to the Rivonia Road intersection. Turn left into Rivonia Road and continue all the way past Sandton City and St Davids Marist College. Immediately after this turn left into Central Avenue. Continue downhill through several intersections and then turn left into 5th Avenue. This becomes Forest Drive after a sharp bend in the road to the right and the gates of Inanda are almost immediately on the left.
