For those that missed the Hot Pink Summer Ladies International, we are sorry to have missed you. It was a great weekend’s polo, everyone seemed to have a lot of fun and the International match was a great showcase.Our SA team really did us proud and well done to Sarah, Amy, Jo and Sophie. The reports from the visiting girls is that they thoroughly enjoyed themselves and are looking forward to coming back.
We have a 10 page spread in the Polo, Lifestyle and Leisure magazine, which is due out next week, so don’t miss it, as there are some great pictures from the tournament! These will also be posted on the SA Polo website. The dates for Inter Provincial are 27 – 29 May at East Rand Polo Club. At the last SAPA meeting it was decided to keep the sections for Inter-provincials to a minimum for the real Provincial representative teams only, otherwise the IPT becomes a bit of a farce when having to make up teams.
I have requested that we retain a ladies section, capping it at 0-goal level and truly representative of each province. These teams will be chosen by the provincial selectors and will be the best 0-goal team that each can put together. Please let me know whether you will be available for selection and be prepared to travel.
We will in all probability need to make up a presidents team, so if you are not selected for your province, you may still be needed.Please understand that if you make yourself available, it is taken as a commitment to the tournament. If we, as ladies polo, want the support of the association and to be taken seriously, then we can’t be seen as flaky and half-hearted!
The 2011 Hot Pink Summer Ladies Polo International tournament is set for the weekend of 1-2 October and we hope to have a very exciting line-up for that! We still need sponsors, so please keep working on any options that may be suitable! Be in touch and I look forward to seeing you all soon.
